Abstract
The risk of thromboembolism increases during pregnancy. Treatment of this condition consists of short-term anticoagulation with intravenous heparin followed by long-term anticoagulation for 3 to 6 months. A patient with recurrent pulmonary embolization during pregnancy treated with long-term intravenous heparin by means of a portable continuous-infusion pump is described in this paper.
