Abstract

Heterotopic pancreas will be encountered infrequently by the surgeon causing symptoms or incidentally atlaparotomy. To avoid confusion with carcinoma at laparotomy, local excision with frozen section diagnosis is recommended. Because frozen section diagnosis will not always be correct, clinical awareness of this condition at operation is also important.
