Abstract

A lithium dosage schedule is proposed to yield a serum lithium level within the presumed therapeutic range (0.6–1.2 mEq/L). Careful clinical observation, lithium level monitoring, and dosage adjustment based on clinical response are necessary to minimize untoward effects. When clinically indicated, dosage changes can be made easily in conjunction with use of this schedule.
