N2 - Early exposure of young children to strength-building activities will improve muscular strength and prepare them for more challenging exercises throughout this critical period of childhood development. As youth gain confidence and competence in their abilities to climb on jungle gyms, swing on monkey bars and play tug-of-war, their resistance training skill literacy increases and their motivation to push, pull and lift improves as they make observable improvements in markers of strength and fitness.2
